MaC’s Journey

While completing my graduate degree I came across the quote “The greatest end of life is not knowledge, but action” by Thomas Huxley. At that point I decided to ‘take action.’  Leaving my long-time teaching position I began taking action by working internationally in developing countries. To date my professional experiences have already taken me to great distances, crisscrossing half way around the world and back from the US West Coast to the Northern Marianas Islands in the Pacific, to New York, and to the Middle East with my most recent experience in the United Arab Emirates.

Along the way I have held the positions of k-12 Classroom Teacher, Director of Information & Learning Technology, Director of Distance Learning, Director of Teaching and Learning with Technology, Curriculum Designer, Online Instructor, as well as Faculty Professional Development Trainer.  I have a wealth of knowledge and experience in education & technology – including information systems, pedagogy & integration of technology, classroom teaching, best practices in education, curriculum planning, as well as managing IT staff and budgets.

I have taught alongside of faculty in the classrooms to engage students through digital media, such as using weblogs, wikis, video media, podcasts and video blogs in their traditional as well as online courses. Additionally, I have been responsible for all duties of an administrator reporting directly to College Presidents, attending all college meetings, handling all tasks related to the daily operations of various technology departments.

Feel free to browse my portfolio and see how passion about teaching and learning can revolutionize education and how, when used correctly, technology, can enhance the teaching & learning process for everyone, everywhere!
